Traffic congestion and accidents are major issues in Phnom Penh, the capital city of the Kingdom of Cambodia. A comprehensive traffic management project was recently implemented. This article first briefly describes the traffic and safety issues in Phnom Penh, and presents an outline and features of the traffic management project being implemented. Finally the results of the traffic survey conducted to verify the effectiveness of the new signal are presented.
