The directory of names, and numbers of capitals, provinces, municipalities, districts, Khans, communes, sangkats and villages was prepared and compiled by the General Department of Administration of the Ministry of Interior on the basis of legal documents related to the establishment, separation, deletion and revision of administrative boundaries​ at the sub national level from the past to the present.
