Rural-urban migration has long been associated with economic development and growth of the country in Cambodia. This research aimed to assess the personal impact of rural-urban migration, with a focus on gender and geographical perspectives, in order to identify means of strengthening safe migration and consequently improve the socio-economic status of rural migrants in urban poor communities of Phnom Penh. The research sampled internal migrants currently living in two Khans in Phnom Penh.
